What a good vehicle catalog needs
Meta matches ads to shoppers using the details in your catalog, so completeness matters as much as accuracy.
- A unique vehicle ID and VIN for every car
- Make, model, year, mileage with a unit, body style and colour
- State of vehicle as new or used, not a DMS code
- A working vehicle page URL and at least one photo
- A price in the format Meta expects, with currency
Built from the export you already have
The Facebook template maps about twenty catalog fields from common DMS column names. Formulas build titles like “2022 Toyota RAV4 XLE AWD” from separate columns, pick the first photo from a comma-separated list, and fall back to MSRP when price is blank. Anything the template does not cover, you add yourself — no developer, no scripts.
Send only the vehicles worth advertising
Filters decide which vehicles each channel gets. Keep in-transit units, wholesale units and cars without photos out of your ads while still listing them elsewhere, with a live count of how many vehicles match.
